Light and Emotion

For centuries artists knew that light creates emotions! Think of a candlelight dinner with the one you love. Now visualize the light on your partners face. That's the essence of light and emotions!

Think about the emotions when you enter the casino: flashing colourful lighting from millions of small lightpoints that create a festive lighting. On the opposite side of the scale lies the soft, diffuse, shadowless white light of the big cathedral, it creates a solemn light, a light suited for deep thoughts and calm voices.

We think of emotions in relation to lighting installations as the "short term effect" a feeling that occurs when you enter a room, and after a while you become familiar with the surroundings, and the emotional effect of the lighting installation slowly fades away.
